Dr. Debra E. Felsman, Ph.D.

Debra E. Felsman, Ph.D. is a New York State licensed psychologist specializing in the treatment of adults across the lifespan. Dr. Felsman works with adults with a variety of life challenges, including depression and anxiety, relationship and interpersonal problems, sexuality, grief, and life transitions such as parenthood, divorce, career changes, retirement, and menopause, among others.

Dr. Felsman graduated with a BA in Psychology from SUNY Plattsburgh and received her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York, in 1995.

Dr. Felsman has been practicing in the Capital Region since 1995. She worked as a psychologist at the Samaritan Hospital Outpatient Clinic from 1995 - 1998, Four Winds Saratoga from 1998 - 2000, and as the clinical director of the Outpatient Clinic at Samaritan from 2000 - 2002. Dr. Felsman worked as a supervisor at the Psychological Services Center, the training center for the University at Albany/SUNY doctoral program. Dr. Felsman joined Associates in Mental Health in Niskayuna, NY as a partner, where she practiced until 2010. She then joined Dr. Assaf at Capital Psychology.

Dr. Felsman has resided in the Capital District since 1987. She currently resides in Schenectady, NY, with her two dogs, Benny and Wylie. Wylie thinks he is a therapy dog and accompanies her to work most days.
